Past Cases & Outcomes
City of Sunnyside v. Gutierrez
2023 & 2025 – Yakima County
5 separate gross misdemeanors in two distinct incidents; DACA protected client charged with DUI, Malicious Mischief, Criminal Trespass and Vehicle Prowling in one incident from 2023, and Assault 4th degree in 2025. A conviction on these charges would have resulted in denial of DACA status, denial of high educational assistance, an ignition interlock for 1 year, anger management courses, probation and court fines/costs. All charges dismissed due to identification of technical errors and zealous advocacy by Counsel.
State of Washington v. Jones
Benton County, WA
Class B Felony Explosives charge; Client, a prominent business owner and dedicated father of multiple young children was looking at a minimum range of 31-41 months, and the Prosecutor threatened to file an aggravator extending the range to 31-120 months if Client did not plead guilty to the minimum range of 31 months. Charge was reduced to a misdemeanor reckless burning after a year of passionately fighting for Client and waiting for the opportune moment to strike in negotiations, which prevented Client from becoming a felon and therefore losing firearm and voting rights, while also allowing Client to maintain his high-paying job position and not miss out on much time with the family.
